## How To turn on/off Secure Boot on an ASUS Motherboard - Guide

If you have an ASUS motherboard, the option to disable safe boot is not always available.  If you have an ASUS motherboard, it's probably grayed out for you.  Almost not.  There is a way to disable and enable Safe Boot, but you do it indirectly.  As you can see, Secure Boot is often enabled by default on ASUS motherboards with UEFI BIOS.  For this reason, disabling secure boot is generally not available.  However, when deleting the secure boot key, you have the option to disable secure boot.  Talk about a workaround.

## Steps to Disable Secure Boot in Asus Using Command Prompt

Insert Windows compact disc or plug in USB stick.

After that, restart the system in Unified Extensible Firmware Interface mode.

After opening the setup, click the Shift and F10 keys together.

This will open an on-screen command prompt.

Start using the diskpart command to use the disk partition tool.

Allow to make any changes to the system.

Start using the listdisk command to find and get the list of disk format menus.

Choose the drive you want to format and switch to the GUID partition table.

You need to do this procedure by typing the command mentioned below: , clear (this command clears the disk), convert gpt (this one converts it to GPT).

## Steps to Disable Secure Boot

Connect the USB drive to the PC.

Go to Start option.

Start the system initialization process.

After the restart process is complete, click the Delete key on the system keyboard to enter the BIOS in the field provided.

This entire procedure depends on the template you are currently using.

You have to click any other key.

Go to advanced mode.

Click the F7 key provided on the system keyboard.

But, you will have several templates with keyboard shortcuts.

Go to the Boot column.

After that go to the Secure Boot menu.

Choose the UEFI mode option by going to the OS Type column in the drop-down list.

Go to the Key Management menu.

Choose the Save secure startup keys option.

press enter button.

The BIOS will save the DB, DBX, KEK and PK keys together on the USB drive.

You have to remove the platform button.

This button will turn off the Secure Boot option.

do not remove any other buttons.

To save the settings and close the BIOS, click the F10 keys provided on the system keyboard.

This key initiates the system restart.

Wait for the system reset to complete.

## Turn on secure boot

Connect the USB drive to the computer.

Open the Start menu.

Choose the Restart option by accessing the Power menu.

After the system starts the reboot process, click the Delete key on the system keyboard to enter the BIOS.

Click the F7 keys to click the Advanced Mode column accessing the BIOS menu.

Go to the Boot column.

Then go to the Safe Boot column.

Go to the Operating System Type column.

Click on Unified Extensible Firmware Interface mode by going to the drop-down menu.

Go to Key Management option.

Go to the Load Default PK option.

Choose UEFI mode by accessing the drop-down list.

Go to Key Management option.

Go to the Load Default PK option.

After that click the Enter button button.

Press the OK button button.

Go to UEFI Secure Variable option.

press ok button.
