A recent firmware update gave owners the option to update their DualSense controller via the PC.  This is just as simple as on the PS5, although the steps are a little different.  Here's how it works.

Download the Firmware Updater software for the DualSense Wireless Controller from the official PlayStation website.

Run and install the program using the on-screen prompts.

Once installed, launch the program.

Connect your DualSense controller to your PC using a USB cable.

Continue following the onscreen instructions to start the update.  During the update, do not turn off the PC or disconnect the controller.

If the update is successful, you will receive a final prompt stating that it is safe to disconnect your controller.
