Most modern parental control programs focus on mobile devices, but desktop monitoring is also important. Microsoft Family Safety is ideal for parents looking for help with web filters, screen time limits, and app monitoring on Windows computers. Microsoft Family Safety is also available for mobile platforms; offers location features that work fine, but web filters and device-level screen time restrictions for supervised Android devices don't work.

For iOS, location features works fine, but app blocking and web filtering are not available on this platform. This subscription is the multi-user version of Microsoft 365 Personal and offers up for six users access to all Microsoft Office apps and 1 TB of OneDrive storage each. In terms of parental control features, a Microsoft 365 Family subscription unlocks location alerts (Microsoft's version of geofencing), driving safety reports, and driving history.

If you're already subscribed to Microsoft 365 Family, these extras are a great bonus, but I wouldn't recommend paying that cost just for them. features. You need to invite each person you want to monitor to become part of your online family. Use an email address, phone number or create an Outlook account for each member.

Since each family member (up for 6 people) accepts the invite, you can enable activity reports and web filters for your devices, set screen time limits, track your location and monitor your driving habits. Any restrictions placed on a family member's activities will appear on their dashboard in the Microsoft Family Safety app or website, making the monitoring process more transparent.
