## How to Use the Multitasking Feature on your iPad - Guide

Your iPad might not be as powerful as a full-fledged computer, but that's not an issue when it comes to multitasking. With iPadOS, you can display and work with two or three apps on the screen at the same time, and you can drag and drop text, images, links, and even files from one app to another. Your iPad offers two different multitasking modes: Slide Over and Split View. Slide Over lets you display two apps on the screen, with one app floating in a narrow area above the other.

Split View lets you display two apps in their own customizable windows on the screen. You can add a third app that sits in the floating area. Both Slide Over and Split View are compatible with iPad Pro, iPad 5th generation and newer, iPad Air 2 and newer, and iPad mini 4 and newer. Some older iPad models have limited functionality with Slide Over, but not Split View.

First, you need to make sure that one of the apps you want to open is in your Dock – the little app icon bar at the bottom of the screen. To do this, open the desired application and close it so that it appears up into one of the "recently used" slots in your Dock.

After verifying that the app is in the Dock, launch the other app you want to use and keep it open.

Slide up smoothly from the bottom of the screen to see the Dock. don't slide up very difficult, or you will simply return to Home screen. just slide up enough for the Dock to float over your app.

Tap and hold the app on the dock, then drag it all the way to the right of the screen and release. If you drag it all the way to the right, the two apps will appear side by side and you can drag the divider bar between them to give more or less space.
