The new feature supports at least four devices that can be connected to one phone.  However, if the primary device remains disconnected for more than 14 days, the connected devices will be disconnected automatically.

WhatsApp's parent company Meta confirmed that the feature will support end-to-end encryption, which means all messages, media and personal calls will remain private.  To use WhatsApp without a smartphone, users will need to link their smartphone to the version of WhatsApp they use, including WhatsApp Web, Desktop or Portal.  However, this process only needs to be done once.  After that, users can use WhatsApp Web without their smartphone.  For some devices, the feature also includes audio and video calls directly via WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

Open WhatsApp on primary smartphone

Go to the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the home page

Tap Linked Devices

WhatsApp will display information about the beta version of various devices

Join the beat program and tap continue

Open WhatsApp on a laptopdesktop or tablet

Scan the QR code on the device through the scanner on the smartphone

Now the device will be connected and WhatsApp Web will sync the messages

The process may take some time

Once connected, the user will be able to send and receive messages via WhatsApp Web
