BMW i3 in 2019 now, thanks to a larger battery,

BMW i3 boasts many other upgrades that not only provides improved batteries but also gives the 2019 model a range of about 153 miles. This represents about 30% improvement over previous models.

The increase in range is noticeable, but still remains behind Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model S, X and 3. It's much cheaper than the Nissan Reef.

As a result, steady improvements reflecting ongoing investment and interest in the i3 brand have been realized. But is it enough to put this city in a mix EV?

When BMW i3 began production in 2013, the battery included a 22.6 kWh battery including 60 hours (Ah). According to the EPA estimate, this first i3 had a range of 81 miles. The company 's second – generation battery released in 2016 achieved 33 kWh of raw energy (94 hours / hour) and reached approximately 115 mph in the EPA cycle.

Currently, the 2019 model equipped with a 120 Ah battery in a 42.2 kWh battery runs about 153 miles with one charge, BMW says.

Upgraded batteries are available on i3 and i3. Price has not been announced. The price of the i3 model of the previous year was about $ 45,000 in the basic model.

Food is not changed in the new 2019 model which starts production in November. The standard i3 is equipped with a horsepower electric motor. This motor will be 60 miles from 60 miles per second to 7.2 seconds. More athletes will have an 181 horsepower engine that can go from 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds.
