Facebook may soon launch video chat

Facebook is announcing its own video chat device called the portal next week and is expected to use Amazon's smart home device.

The portal focused on Amazon echo show, available in two variants, Cheddar reported on Friday.

However, integrated with Amazon's voice assistant Alexa, users will be able to browse music, videos, recipes, and get information.

The Amazon Echo Show and Echo Spot devices add videos to the audio experience via Alexa Audio Assistant. Echo home appliances are equipped with speakers with microphones, Amazon Echo Show and Spot also include displays.

This report says Facebook was originally planning to announce the portal at the F8 developer conference in May. However, the scandal of this company that the Cambridge analytic data failed,

Social media giants have not yet commented on this evolution.

The portal also includes a privacy pane that covers the camera wide-angle video camera. It seems to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to recognize people in the frame and follow them as they move through the room.
