At Apple’s latest earnings call, company CEO Tim Cook said his customers had used Apple Pay to make more than 3 billion transactions in the fourth quarter of 2020. These three billion transactions enabled the function to achieve more than twice as many transactions as it did year after year.
Cook also mentioned that Apple Pay is growing four times faster than PayPal. Apple Pay isn’t only used when users type their phone on in-store payment terminals, but it can also be used for online purchases made with Apple products.
Apple Pay for iOS arrived in Canada on November 17th after being available in the US for almost a year before launching here. During the summer of 2020, this feature was transmitted to Safari on Mac.
