Google’s Pixel phone is considered to be one of the best Android handset available. However earlier than the Pixel arrived at the tail end of last year, Samsung was using high with its Galaxy S7, and presently it’s back with the Galaxy S8 – providing Google cause for worry.

The side buttons are similar. However, an extra button for Samsung’s Bixby software now seems under the volume rocker.
Bixby is apparently Samsung’s answer to Google Assistant, which was initially a Pixel-only feature however now comes on a lot of devices, together with the new Galaxy S8. That mentioned, Bixby is a software suite just like Google Now that has its device-side voice search capabilities.
The Google Pixel falls back the 2017 pack with the Snapdragon 821 and a lack of expandable storage. The Galaxy S8 Plus and S8 include updated versions of those specs and add in Samsung Pay, water resistance, and wi-fi charging. The S8+ slightly edges out the Pixel XL in the battery, providing 3,500 mAh over the 3,450 in the Google-branded equal.
Elsewhere, you will find USB Type-C ports on both Samsung and Google’s handsets. However, there are a few areas where Sammy has the upper hand. First up is waterproofing. The S8 Plus and S8 come IP68-rated for full waterproofing while the Pixel doesn’t have any such safety. It also does not have microSD card slot, or wi-fi charging, whereas Samsung’s phones provide both. The Pixel also needs the new iris scanner that seems on the top bezel of the Galaxy S8. Overall, the day-to-day performance of both handsets can be nothing short of stellar. Samsung’s handset, however, comes with a load of extras that give it the edge regarding and features.
