Check tutorial of Highlight Text and Take Notes in iBooks
So after a lot of requests from our users here is a guide about Highlight Text and Take Notes in iBooks.
iBooks offers a great reading experience in iOS, but it can do double duty as well as act as a powerful study tool, bringing your contextual notes directly to words and text blocks, and even highlight important sentences, just like you would in a real book with a fluorescent pen. The next time you research or study, put away the paper book, post-it notes, and highlighter and include a digital version in iBooks on your iPad, iPod touch, or iPhone instead.
Note: Although most iBook books allow it features, not all things opened in iBooks allow highlights and notes. This is especially true for PDF files, but pretty much anything that is a native iBook should allow it.
Highlight Words & Text blocks
With the book open in iBooks …
- Tap and hold any text until the selector appears up
- Arrange the text selection as desired, then tap ‘Mark’ button
Choose a different color if you prefer, the default highlight color is yellow, but your default colors are available to separate things and make elements stand out from each other.
If highlighting isn’t your thing, you can also underline words and text in iBooks by tapping Highlight and then the color button, then the rightmost choice of an “A” with a red line below it.
Add notes to words and sentences
Again, with an iBook already open:
- Tap and hold a word or phrase and rearrange the selection as needed
- Tap ‘Note’ (or tap Mark, then the little note icon)
- Enter your note, then tap “Done” to keep it next to that word or block of text
A small note icon appears in the left column next to blocks or words, indicating that a note corresponds to that section. Tapping that note icon is the fastest way to see the text.
On the iPhone and iPod touch, the notes portion of iBooks gets its own screen, but on the larger featured iPad, it appears as a pop-upupjust like a real note would. That difference aside, everything else is the same in iBooks for iOS.
