Today, in this article, we will show you how to **Change the screensaver in Windows.** When you're not using your computer, the Windows screensaver lets you show an animation or change the background automatically.  When left inactive for too long, it may also time out and lock the device.  Screensavers can be useful for a variety of tasks, like locking your computer while you're away or playing a slideshow of your favorite photos.

When using the same image on your cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor for a long period of time, Windows used to have a function called a screensaver that you had to enable and configure.  Screensavers became obsolete with the rise of LCD screens with new technologies making monitors impervious to burn-in and providing higher image quality.  We have mentioned below the steps to change the screensaver in Windows.

## Steps to Change Screensaver in Windows

tighten **windows key**model **Change screen saver**then press **Enter**????????

At the **screen saver settings** window, click on **down arrow** to the drop-down menu.

Select one **screensaver** from the list.

Once you've chosen a screensaver, you have a few options.  For **change** how long the computer waits before starting the screensaver, click the button up or down arrows for the Wait option for your preferred time.

If you are using **Photos** screensaver option, you can change the time between images in **Definitions**and choose between slow, medium and fast for slideshow speed.  When finished, click **To apply** (A) and after **OK** (B).

Although it is not necessary to use this feature, you can still set up screensavers in Windows if you are using a monitor that can burn out, such as an older CTR or plasma monitor, or if you want to create a new look when your PC is not in use.
