## How to Fix ‘Win­dows 10 Taskbar Col­or Not Chang­ing’ Issue - Guide

Windows 10 includes a lot of accomplishment, choosing to change the main operating system to make the experience more personal.  However, there are some customization options that are designed to change a group of elements in Windows 10, when you're probably only interested in customizing one.  For example, if you want to choose a highlight color for the taskbar, you only have one option to show the highlight color in the Start menu, taskbar, and action center.  unfortunately, the Settings app doesn't offer separate options to change the color individually.

However, finding all the settings on a relatively new version of Windows can be a challenge.

These are the system color width settings, or what you call a theme.  You can change these settings later.

If you want the taskbar to smell dark but the rest of the window list is white, choose Custom from the same list.  You will see more episodes now.  Set Window Mode to Flat Application Mode and Default to Clear.  This will maintain brightness and whiteness in all areas of the window, but will darken on the taskbar.
