In this guide, I’ll show you how to Install MOTCs on FireStick from a PC/computer. The method works with both Windows and Mac.

You install third-party apps on FireStick from an online location with downloader or other sideloading tools. But what if you want to install an app from the MOT file stored on your computer’s hard drive? Fortunately, there is a way to do that and we are going to discuss it in this guide.

Why do I have to sideload from my PC if I can use the sideloading tools like Downloader, ask you? Frankly, it’s more convenient to use these sideloading utility apps to install third-party apps on my FireStick. However, I think it is good to have alternative options.

Sometimes I have some MOT files on my computer and I wish I could transfer them to FireStick all at once. If I use a sideloading app, I will have to get all of them one by one using separate web links. On the other hand, using the PC to FireStick method, I can copy multiple MOT’s to FireStick together.

How to Install APK’s on FireStick via PC/computer

Condition: Enable ADB debugging and apps from unknown sources

ADB Debugging must be enabled to enable FireStick to connect to your computer. Apps from unknown sources must be enabled to sideload Third-Party FireStick apps. Here’s how to do both:

1- Access Settings of the home Screen of FireStick. Settings can be found in the upper right

2- Navigate to and click My Fire TV (If you’re using an old Fire TV device, you might see device instead)

3- Click Developer options Following

4- You will now find both ADB Debugging and Apps from unknown sources on the next screen. Set them both aside one by one

5- Enabling apps from unknown sources activates the following prompt. Click Enable

Sideload apps on FireStick with PC

Update: ES File Explorer does not support free sideloading of third-party apps. You need a $9.99 monthly subscription

Make sure your FireStick and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network to make this method work

I will divide this process into three parts.

Part 1: (FireStick)

Follow the following steps on your FireStick:

1- Go to the FireStick home screen again. Access the search option in the upper-left corner

2- Type in ES Explorer and click it in search results

3- Click the ES icon explorer on the next screen

4- Depending on what you see, click Download Or Add on the window that follows

5- ES File Explorer is now being downloaded and installed. Wait.

6- Click Open to run the ES Explorer app.

Note: You’ll also have access to the app later from Your apps and channels Section

7- When you run the ES Explorer app for the first time after installation, you might see the next window. Click Agree

8- Click Allow next to the app to give the permission needed to access photos and media files on your FireStick

9- On the main screen of ES File Explorer you View on PC icon on the right. You also extend the Network menu on the left and click View on PC

10- You will now see this window with the name of the network your device is connected to. The computer from which you sideload the MOT must also be connected to the same network

Click Enable button

11- The FTP address is now displayed. Write down this address. You’ll need it in the next part

Part 2: (On your PC)

Follow the following steps on your computer:

1- Download the APK from the app on your computer that you want to install on your FireStick. You use any web browser (such as Chrome, FireFox, Opera) to download the file

2- Open a folder on your computer and enter the FTP address from the ES explorer you noticed in the previous section

3- You must now see the list of all FireStick folders on your computer. Choose the FireStick folder where you want to save the MOT file

Now go to the location on your computer where you downloaded the MOT.

Note: I downloaded cinema apk file from https://www.firesticktricks.com/cinema for demonstration purposes

Part 3: (On your FireStick)

Follow the following steps again on your FireStick:

1- Open ES explorer again on FireStick

2- On the main screen of the ES Explorer app, fold the Local menu on the left. You now see two Home Options. Click on the second one that does not home image next to it

Note: You alternately click on Internal storage on the right at the top

3- Open the FireStick folder in which you saved the MOT file in Part 2.

I open the download folder in which I saved the Cinema MOT file

4- Click the MOT file

5- Click Install on the next prompt

6- Click Install again in the lower-right corner of the next prompt

7- Wait for the App installed Message

You now click on Open to run the installed app or Done to use the app later

(Alternative method) Sideload apps on FireStick from a PC running FileLinked App

This is an alternative method. If you’ve already sideloaded the MOT from a computer with the previous ES explorer method, you don’t need to follow this method.

FileLinked is one of the best FireStick apps to sideload MOT files.  You upload files from your computer to your FileLinked account through a browser and download the MOT file from the FileLinked app on your FireStick.

The above two methods using ES File Explorer and FileLinked are pretty simple and work great for me. I’ve installed third-party apps on my FireStick on numerous occasions using these methods.
