How to Install Google Play on Fire TV Stick (Aptoide) Tutorial and Steps
So here we discuss the How to Install Google Play on Fire TV Stick (Aptoide), and after a lot of requests from our users here is a guide about How to Install Google Play on Fire TV Stick (Aptoide).
In this guide, I’m going to talk to you about getting Google Play on FireStick and Fire TV devices. Google Play Store is the most widely used app repository with thousands of apps, games, and tools. The huge collection of apps and ease of use are the biggest draws. But the Play Store is not available on all Android platforms. For example, Amazon FireStick and Fire TV devices have Amazon Store and do not support play store. Unfortunately, Amazon’s app inventory isn’t that big, which is why FireStick users often look for other options.
Play Store is not officially available on these Amazon devices. So, is there a way to side-load it? The answer is Yes! However, here I’m going to tell you about something that’s much better than Google Play on FireStick. In this guide, I will introduce you to the third-party app store called Aptoide TV, the best Play Store alternative and optimized for Fire device platforms.
How to Install Google Play on Fire Stick (Alternative)
The process of sideloading Play Store on FireStick is tedious, long-winded, prone to glitches and often doesn’t work. You would have been in vain for an hour and a half. I don’t want to waste your time. You get everything from Aptoide that you get from Google Play and more. Aptoide TV works largely flawlessly on FireStick. It also has a decent collection of apps for FireStick that you’ll ever need. So, let’s learn now how to install and use the app store.
Are you concerned about your online privacy?
Before we go any further, there is an important issue that I would like to draw your attention to. Privacy is a major concern in the World Wide Web landscape. You are probably watched and followed by hackers and identity stealers and even your own government and ISP. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to find a way to remain anonymous and maintain your privacy in the digital span of the Internet.
Buy a VPN now and enjoy the peace of mind. VPN encrypts all the traffic of your devices and provides complete anonymity. VPN also ensures that you don’t fall victim to Internet restriction, a practice that is becoming more common every day.

Preparing FireStick for Sideloading Aptoide TV
Aptoide, the most promising alternative to Google Play on FireStick, is a third-party app store and no surprise that it is not hosted on Amazon Store. Since we are going to get the app from outside the official store, we will instruct firestick to allow the installation. The Apps from Unknown Sources option is disabled by default.
These are the quick steps to enable third-party app installation
Step 1: Use your external direction keys to select Settings in the FireStick home Screen. This option is located on the top menu bar. Now navigate to Device as shown in the image below:
Step 2: Select developer options on the next screen that follows
Step 3: In the Developer Options section, highlight Apps from Unknown Sources, and then press the Select option button on your remote control
Step 4: When you see the following prompt, ignore the alert and press “Enable.” It’s true that some third-party apps can damage your device. But, apps like Aptoide are very well known and completely safe. You don’t have to worry.
Now you’re set up to install Aptoide (or a third-party app) on your device.
Steps to install Play Store Alternative (Aptoide Store) on FireStick
I’ll show you now. how to google Play Store on your Amazon Fire Stick device (the alternative Aptoide to be more precise). You install this app with the Downloader app and the ES Explorer app (with and without a computer)
Why two apps, you ask. Downloader is the most commonly used app to sideload third-party apps on Fire Stick. But the app isn’t available everywhere in the Amazon Store and needs to be charged for a few regions. On the other hand, ES File Explorer can be downloaded from Amazon Store, regardless of your country or region.
How to Install Aptoide with downloader (method 1)
The first what you need to do is the Downloader app if you don’t have it yet. You’ll find it in the Amazon Store, and if you don’t, check out how to Install downloader.
Once you have installed the Downloader app, you can install the aptoide here on Fire Stick or Fire TV.
Step 1: Run the downloader app from the fire stick home (if you moved the app icon here).
If you don’t see the app on the home screen, hold the Home button remote control and select ‘Apps’. You’ll see the list of all your apps. Scroll down to Downloader and run it.
Step 2: From the downloader home screen, make sure that Home option on the left sidebar is selected
Step 3: The cursor flashes in the URL field. Press ‘Select’ button on your remote control to up keyboard on the screen. Enter the URL https://www.firesticktricks.com/store and press the ‘Go’ button on the keyboard (or the Play button on your remote control). Look at the image below. This is the link to get Aptoide, alternative to Google Play on FireStick.
Step 4: Aptoide APK file is now automatically downloaded to your device’s storage
Step 5: Once the download is complete, you’ll see the next screen. Keep pressing the down button on your remote to ‘Next’ button in the lower right, “Install” changes; and then mark the ‘Install’ button and click on it.
Step 6: So the installation progress screen is displayed. Once installation is complete, you’ll get the ‘App installed’ notification along with the ‘Done’ and ‘Open’ buttons.
Step 7: Click the ‘Done’ button if we don’t want to open the app just yet (but if you really want to open the app right away, go ahead and click ‘Open’; your call!)
Step 8: You will now see the following dialogue box. You don’t have to click the ‘Install’ button if the app is already installed. Instead, click the ‘Delete’ button to delete the MOT file. We no longer need it and it will take up the storage space unnecessarily.
That’s it! You have successfully installed aptoide app, a Google Play alternative to FireStick.
Install Aptoide on FireStick with ES File Explorer WITHOUT Computer (method 2)
Note: This is an alternative method. You don’t need to follow these steps if you’ve already installed Aptoide with the Downloader app. In addition, ES File Explorer now costs $9.99 per month to use sideloading feature.
If your downloader doesn’t get or don’t want to sideload, or just prefer ES File Explorer better, I’ll show you how to Use the latter to install aptoide app on Fire TV Stick.
ES File Explorer is also very popular and as I said, it is more widely available than Downloader, therefore it only makes sense to include this method.
There are two ways to install Google Play on Fire Stick alternatively, one with the computer and the other without.
The method without the computer is easier and faster (but requires a $9.99 per month premium subscription). We’ll talk about this method first. If you happen to have downloaded the Aptoide APK to your computer, you can look at the second method later.
Here comes the ES Explorer method that does not require a computer.
Step 1: Open ES Explorer, navigate to Tools on the left sidebar and expand it. From the Extra submenu, select “Download Manager” and then click the “+” button at the bottom
Step 2: You must now see the Download Dialogue box
Step 3: In the Path field, enter the URL https://firesticktricks.com/store. In the Name section, enter any name you want, but make it relevant to the app we installed. I gave it the name Aptoide TV as the name of the app I install.
Step 4: Click Download Now button and wait for the MOT to download
Once downloaded, click “File on”one’ button to run the MOT file. Starts the installation process.
Step 5: Now, if you see the following prompt, click “Install”
Step 6: Press the next screen on the ‘Down’ button on your remote control several times to a button highlighted at the bottom. The ‘Next’ button at the bottom right will change to ‘Install’ button. Click on it to continue
Step 7: This is what you’ll see when the app is installed. To start the app immediately, click “Open” button. Otherwise, click ‘Done’ button. You run the app later from the Apps and Games section
That’ll be it! Now, let’s see how to Install Google Play on FireStick substitute app, Aptoide using ES File Explorer and computer.
How to Install Aptoide on FireStick with ES File Explorer WITH Computer
You need a computer. Windows, Mac, or Linux – each will do!
And make sure your computer and FireStick are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
So, here we go!
On your computer: First, download the Aptoide APK file on your https://www.firesticktricks.com/store computer
On FireStick: Download the ES File Explorer app from the Amazon Store on your FireStick device. Select the search option in the upper left corner of the Fire stick home screen, look up for ES File Explorer and follow the simple on-screen instructions to install it.
Step 1: Run ES Explorer from the Apps and Games section. Scroll down to the Network menu on the left sidebar and expand it. Select Remote Manage now in the available network options (image below)
Step 2: Click the big ‘Enable’ now button. You should see an FTP address now. Mine is ftp://192.168.1.7:3721/
Your address will be different. Write down this address. You need to enter it on your PC. Manages all your FireStick files and folders from your computer
Step 3: On your computer: Now go back to your computer and open each folder. Type the FTP address of your Fire TV Stick that you see on the ES Explorer screen in the folder window address bar on your computer, and then press Enter. Es Explorer content opens on your PC.
The image below is captured on Windows 10. But, this will work just as well on your Mac and Linux.
Step 4: Copy the Aptoide APK for Fire Stick that you downloaded earlier on your computer. And stick it in an ES Explorer folder that you opened with FTP address in the previous step. You even create a new folder if you need to.
I always choose the “Download” folder to copy my computer’s MOT file. Somehow it makes more sense to me. But, that’s just me! The choice is entirely up to you!
Step 5: On FireStick: Go back to FireStick and open ES File Explorer if it isn’t.
Navigate to the “Local” menu on the left and expand. Select the second Home option (not the one with the home image). See the image below for more clarity.
Step 6: Now use the remote control to navigate to the “Download” folder on the right side of the screen
Step 7: Open the folder and you’ll see the Aptoide APK file here (remember? I saved this file in the Download folder. If you copied it to another folder, choose accordingly)
Step 8: Press the ‘Select’ button on your FireStick remote to run this MOT file. Click the ‘Install’ button when you see the ‘Properties’ prompt (image below)
Step 9: Now business as usual! Navigate to the bottom of the next screen, and then click “Install” in the lower right to confirm your action and install the app.
Step 10: When the app is installed, this is what you’re more likely to see. To start Aptoide TV right away, click ‘OPEN’ or press ‘DONE’ to open it later.
How to Use Google Play (Alternative) on Fire TV Stick
You have installed the alternative of Google Play on Fire TV without root. Go on!
You probably already know that you open all your apps in the ‘Your apps and games’ section. Just press and keep the ‘Home’ button on the remote control and when you see the next menu, select ‘Apps’
That’s cool! But the newly installed apps don’t show up on the home screen and apps list they are at the bottom. You want to move the commonly used apps to the top instead of quick access.
As you can see, apptoide is right at the bottom of the list. But, you move it up Easily. Scroll down and select Aptoide.
Now hold the ‘Select’ button on your remote control. You also click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) on the remote control and select “Move” from the menu that appears in the lower right, as shown in the image below:
Stay on the ‘Up’ direction button your remote control until the Aptoide app is in the top row.
Press the ‘Select’ now button to drop aptoide app icon in the top row. Back to the FireStick home screen and you’ll find the Aptoide icon there!
Now, this is how the Aptoide Home Screen looks like. Everything else is pretty simple. You watch up for each app that uses the Search feature in the upper-left corner. Go ahead and explore Aptoide and download all the apps you need.
So, here’s how we download the alternative to Google Play on FireStick. While there’s a workaround to download Play Store on your Fire devices, it’s long drawn and doesn’t work for the most part. I’ve tried it myself numerous times and have often been left frustrated. I don’t see any point in trying this hard to get Google Play on FireStick when I can get the best apps for FireStick that I would ever need from Aptoide. In addition, the Play Store is not designed and optimized to work on fire stick platform. Even most of the apps won’t work. Get Aptoide and bypass all the hassle.
