In this guide, I give the steps to install SkyDark build on Kodi. These steps work on all Kodi supported devices such as Windows PC, Mac, Android, TV devices such as FireStick and Android Boxes.

SkyDark Hydra is the part of the SkyDark Wizard, which also houses a lot of other builds. This build includes a solid collection of video add-ons. The on-demand sections (movies and TV shows) are particularly impressive with add-ons such as The Magic Dragon, Corona and a few more. You will also find decent options for sports and kids equipment. Live TV isn’t exactly great, but you can supplement the build with more live TV addons from our list of top Kodi addons.

The SkyDark Hydra Kodi build may look a bit complicated, but you’ll get used to it in a matter of minutes. The build can also be a bit heavy. Still, I find it fast and smooth on most devices. It slowed down a bit on FireStick, but it was still acceptable. Follow the steps below to install SkyDark build on Kodi and give it a try!

Steps to Install SkyDark Kodi Build

The first thing we need to do is enable unknown sources on Kodi. To prevent unauthorized installation of malicious add-ons, this option remains disabled by default. Here’s how to enable it quickly:

# 1: Start Kodi

# 2: On the home screen, click on it gear icon in the top right corner to open Settings

# 3: Select and open System settings

# 4: Select it Add-ons choice. It’s in the left menu.

Now, if it Unknown sources is turned off or OFF, turn it ON

# 5: Kodi will warn you of the risks associated with keeping this option enabled. With SkyDark you don’t have to worry about anything. It’s completely safe from now on. Go ahead and click Yes

Note: You may want to disable this option when SkyDark Kodi build is installed

You are ready to install the SkyDark build.

Follow the steps below and install the SkyDark Kodi build:

# 1: Click Settings on the homescreen of Kodi

# 2: Open File manager

# 3: You should see Add source on either side of the next screen. Click on one of them and go to the next step.

# 4: If you see this window, click

# 5: Type the following path in the highlighted field and click OK:

# 6: Type the name of the path you specified in the previous step. Choose a name of your choice, make it identifiable with the source. For example, you may come in SkyDark as I have done

Click OK

So far you have successfully added the source from which we will eventually install the SkyDark Kodi build. First, let’s install the Skydark Repository

# 7: Get back to it homescreen of Kodi

# 8: Click Addons

# 9: Click Installer package

Note: This is the open box icon in the top left corner

# 10: Open Install from zip file

# 11: Click SkyDark or the name you entered previously

# 12: Click repository.SkyDark-7.1.3.zip

Note: The version number of this file as I write this guide is 7.1.3. If you see a different version number, still click the file. Version numbers change when the file is updated / upgraded

# 13: Wait for the warning to be confirmed SkyDark Repository Add-on installed

And you have installed the SkyDark Repository. Now let’s use this repository to install the SkyDark Wizard

# 14: Open the option Install from repository

# 15: Click SkyDark repository

# 16: Open Program add-ons

# 17: Click Skydark wizard

# 18: Click to install

# 19: Wait for the SkyDark Wizard to install. If you Skydark Wizard Add-on installed notification, you are good to go

# 20: You should now see three popups generated by the SkyDark Wizard immediately after installation. The first is the Developer Notes. Click Reject

# 21: The second drop-down list shows some settings. Select the settings you want to change. Or you can leave everything unchanged.

Click Continue

# 22: The third dollup takes you straight to the build menu. You can click Build Menu and skip steps 23 to 27. click on Ignore know how to go there from the homescreen of Kodi

We have installed the Skydark Wizard. Now we come to the final section where we install the SkyDark build on Kodi. Keep following the steps!

# 23: Go back to Kodi home-screen

# 24: Click Add-ons

# 25: Click Program add-ons

# 26: Click SkyDark Wizard icon to run the wizard

# 27: Click (Skydark) Builds

# 28: Go to the Krypton Builds section and click Skydark Hydra

Note: SkyDark Wizard also has builds for Kodi 18 Leia. But currently Leia builds don’t install or are not stable when installed.

# 29: Click New installation

Choosing this option will erase all of your existing data on Kodi and restore the factory default settings. This is the recommended option. Builds installed on fresh Kodi perform better.

# 30: Kodi will now want to confirm if you want to restore the Kodi configuration to its default settings.

Click Continue

# 31: Now wait for the Skydark Kodi build to download and install. The build installation usually takes a few minutes, depending on the internet speed and hardware specifications of the device. Typically, you should have the build up and running in 4-5 minutes. Skydark is nearly 320MB in size, but when installed it extracts over 450MB of data.

# 32: When the build is finally installed, click on it Force close button

Well, that will be it! You have successfully installed the SkyDark Build on Kodi.

SkyDark Hydra Kodi Build: A Quick Rundown

Now that you’ve installed the build, you might want to explore it. Let me get you started.

It follows below homescreen of Kodi SkyDark Hydra build. The build has a minimal design. However, it can get a bit complicated. It may take a few minutes to get used to it. You can explore the menu on the left (menu items will appear one by one)

The home-screen features the following media categories:

• Children
• Scrubs
• Music
• Yoda
• Men’s cave
• Corona
• Other movies

If you enjoy watching movies and shows on demand, there are many cool add-ons for you, such as Monster Munch, Corona, The Magic Dragon, Deceit and more.

The sports section also looks promising with SportsDevil, Supremacy Sports and Rising Tides.

Live TV is the area where SkyDark stumbles. However, it’s not so much about the build as it is about the inability of the addon developers to maintain live TV add-ons. Most Live TV add-ons hardly fetch content here. You could try Deceit, which has a decent selection and a lot streams work.
