How to Send Live Photos As GIFs in iOS 15 – Guide

How to Turn photos into GIFs

Before you start, make sure you have downloaded the Shortcuts app. Unlike other built-in apps, shortcuts can be erased from your device. Do not worry. You can always download it for free from the App Store. Once you have the app ready, here’s How to turn a photo into a GIF:

  • Open Shortcuts.
  • Go to the Gallery tab and search for Convert Photos to GIF. Select it and tap Add shortcut.
  • Go back to the My Shortcuts tab and tap the Convert Photos to GIF shortcut.
  • To choose up for 21 photos. Based on our tests, exceeding 21 photos will result in an error. Once you’ve finished your selection, tap Add in the upper-right corner of the screen.

    Instead, use the iPhone Shortcuts app for free. To do this:

  • Open Shortcuts.
  • Go to the Gallery tab and search for Create GIF. Select it and tap Add shortcut.
  • Go back to the My Shortcuts tab and tap the Create GIF shortcut.
  • Select a Live Photo from your album. Unlike the Photos to GIF shortcut, this shortcut automatically sends your GIF to the Photos album.
