How to set Facebook news feed to most recent posts – Guide

Most social networks, including Facebook, tend to show top news rather than the latest content by default. Also, there is no way to always see the most recent posts on Facebook as the news feed ends up reverting to the default setting. While you can always sort Facebook according to the latest, it’s a little tricky now. That’s because the Feed filter bar (introduced a few months ago) was quietly removed from the Home guide to easily switch between Home, Favorites and Recents. This new menu appeared at the top of the news feed previously, but not anymore. As a result, many Facebook users are asking to bring the latest button back.

Facebook has now rolled out its site-wide redesign for everyone, so now we can all enjoy its chic dark mode. The new design is very clean and aesthetically pleasing – it’s really fun to check Facebook again. But there is one change that may confuse you. In the previous design, the ability to sort the news feed by top or most recent was done via a drop-down menu in the left menu. The news feed is now accessible via icons at the top of the screen. There is no way to change home button which gives you access to the redesigned news feed.

How to sort your Facebook news feed by latest posts on your iPhone, computer or Android

  • On Android: Tap the hamburger menu at the top right of the Facebook app and choose the Latest option.
  • On your iPhone: iOS support for the option of organizing latest newsfeed posts will be released later.
  • On your computer: click the See More > Favorites option in the menu on the left. To return to the algorithmic news feed, simply press the button home button.
  • How to choose who comments on your Facebook posts on your iPhone, computer or Android

You can now also restrict virulent posts from strangers or “acquaintances” on Facebook by choosing who can comment on their own posts. If it smacks of censorship, so be it, Facebook gives you the option.

  • On Android: Tap the hamburger menu at the top right of the Facebook app, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Public Post Comments.
  • On your iPhone: Tap the hamburger menu at the bottom of the Facebook app, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Public Post Comments.
  • On your computer: Tap the down arrow in the top right corner of the Facebook page, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Public Post Comments.
  • How to choose Favorites whose Facebook posts will be seen most often on your iPhone, computer or Android

Facebook is merging your previous See First list of selected friends, public figures or Pages into the new Favorites option automatically. Favorites lets you choose up to 30 people or pages for more frequent posting display. The option is available in the new.

  • On Android: Tap the hamburger menu at the top right of the Facebook app, scroll down to See More > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks. To add Favourites, use the search bar to find friends and Pages you want to add. You can also directly tap Add next to Friends or Suggested Pages.
  • On your iPhone: Tap the hamburger menu at the bottom of the Facebook app or type Favorites in Search.
  • On your computer: click on the See More > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks options in the left menu.
