## How to set up and use Focus on iOS - Guide

In recent iOS updates, Apple has introduced tools to help iPhone users manage the deluge of notifications and information their devices provide.  iOS 15 is no exception: one of the great new Marquee features is the focus.

Focus extends the previously existing “Do Not Disturb” function and allows you to create different profiles for your iPhone.  That way, you can determine which notifications and alerts come to you, and even which apps should be in the forefront to do their job.

## How to    to define up Focus on your iPhone

Open the Settings app and tap Focus.

On the page that opens, tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner.

You will be asked what you want to "focus on".  You can choose one of the predefined options - they have their names and notification options already set up - or select Custom.

Choose from whom you want to allow text messages and calls.  You'll likely get some suggestions right away, based on who you talk to the most.

Depending on which Focus option you have chosen, you may also be asked which apps can send notifications.  Here you can also enable or disable time sensitive notifications - these are notifications that apps have marked as very important and, if enabled, will pass the Focus filter even if you don't allow the app.

When finished, you will be taken to the new Focus options page.  From this page you can delete Focus, choose how it will affect your Home and lock screens, set up a schedule for that and more.

## How to    quickly turn on a Focus

after defining up a Focus Mode, you can turn it on in Control Center.

Open the Control Center and hold the Focus option.

Select your Focus from the list that appears to activate it.  You can also tap the three points near the Focus to temporarily turn it on.

If you tap the plus sign at the bottom of this menu, you will be taken to the Settings app to create a new Focus.

After turning on the Focus, its icon will be shown in the Control Center and on the Lock Screen.
