## How to Tile an Image in Windows 10 Without Photoshop - Guide

In that tutorial, I show you how to make Photoshop your default image editor on Windows and Mac so you can open JPEG, PNG and more files in Photoshop just by double-clicking them! Let's start by learning how to change the default image editor in Windows 10 from the Photos app to Photoshop and then we'll move to the Mac and change the default image editor in Mac OS from Preview to Photoshop! If you're looking for ways to tile an image, there are many ways to do this, in addition to using graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop. Graphic tools require some training and understanding of how to use them, and it's not always easy.

There are other methods to create a repeatable image with common tools used every day. You can also create a tiled image manually. But it takes a long time and you have to take care of spacing and alignment. It is better to use block generation methods like the ones mentioned in this article. For best results, we also explain how to reduce the size of an image in Paint to get more mosaic. Placing an image side by side is repeating it indefinitely. This can be done manually in MS Paint, but this process takes time and effort. You would also need to set the spacing and alignment for each image separately.

## Create a repetitive image using wallpaper

This is perhaps the easiest technique to create a tiled image without using software. So, set your image as the background on your PC with the fit type as a mosaic instead of filling or stretching. Then take a screenshot and save the image.

Here are the steps in detail:

Right click on your desktop and choose Customize from the menu. You can also access your computer's settings and then customization. Click on the background.

From the Background drop-down list, choose Image. Then click Browse to find your image on your PC.

After the image is added, select Tile from the Choose a setting drop-down list.

Now go to your desktop and you will see the image tiled. Right-click anywhere and press View. Uncheck Show desktop icons.

Press the screen print key on your keyboard to take a screenshot of your background. After that, open MS Paint, Paint 3D or any other photo editing tool. Paste the screenshot there. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V to paste the image. Save the image.

If the individual tiles look larger, first reduce the image size and then add it to the background.

## Organize a photo block in Microsoft Word

Another alternative to Photoshop is to tile an image in Word. In this method, we'll use the page color setting to create a continuous pattern using an image. Let's check the steps:

Open Word on your computer.

Click the Design tab at the top.

Click Page Color. A menu will appear. Click Fill Effects.

Click the Image tab in the window that opens. Using Select Image, navigate to the image you want to mosaic. Finally, click OK.

Your tiled image in Word is ready. Use the Zoom slider at the bottom to change the number of tiles. You can reduce image size in other photo editing apps to get more mosaic.

To save the image, take a screenshot as you normally would on a Windows computer. Then paste it into a photo editing app and save the image.

## Mosaic of a photo in Microsoft PowerPoint

Similar to Word, you can use PowerPoint to create a tiled image. Let's check out the steps.

Launch Microsoft PowerPoint on your PC. Create a blank slide. Delete existing text if necessary.

Click the Design tab at the top and then click Format Background.

Select Image or Texture Fill. Click Insert to add the image you want to mosaic. Be sure to check the box next to "Picture mosaic as texture". This is how the image will look.

To save the slide as an image, click File at the top and choose Save As. Then select Save as type as JPG, PNG, etc.

## Mosaic an image using online tools

If the above options don't suit your needs, you can use websites that allow you to create an image mosaic. The site I like is IMGonline. Let's check your steps.

Open imgonline.com from the link below. You will be redirected directly to the image mosaic function.

Select image tile in Choose File button. Customize the number of tiles per row and column in Tile Format. Click OK.

Click Download processed image to save the file to your computer.
