Check tutorial of Set Up Apple Pay on iPhone
So after a lot of requests from our users here is a guide about Set Up Apple Pay on iPhone.
Apple Pay is a contactless payment platform that is newly available to iPhone 6 users. It works well and is incredibly easy; Once you add a card to Apple Pay, all you have to do is wave your iPhone over an Apple Pay compatible NFC payment terminal to pay for what you buy. The iPhones’ built-in TouchID sensor serves as an ID mechanism to prevent unauthorized use, and you never have to remove a credit or debit card once it’s configured. And yes, it really works that well once you set it up, which is what we’re going to cover here.
To use Apple Pay, you need at least iOS 8.1 or higher on an iPhone that is at least as new or newer than iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus (the latest iPhone models have NFC payment chips, older models do not) and an Apple Pay -Compatible credit or debit card. Keep in mind that you only need the card once for setup, then you can leave it behind. Supported cards vary, but Apple maintains a list of banks and charge cards offering the feature, the list below is current as of now, but will certainly change as more banks add additional card support. Let’s continue setting up for now up and add cards to Apple Pay on iPhone.
Add a card to Apple Pay on your iPhone
Do you have a compatible credit or debit card, modern iOS and a new iPhone? You’re good to go, the rest is a piece of cake:
- Open the Passbook app and tap “Set up.” Up Apple Pay ”
- Choose ‘Add a new credit or debit card’
- Do not enter anything, you can do it automatically with your iPhone Camera! Get out your credit / debit card and place it in fairly bright lighting, then click Camera icon next to “Card number” and adjust everything up, give it a moment to recognize the card and make sure all details are correct
- Agree to the terms and conditions, then go through the verification process to enable Apple Pay for the card – some cards require you to call a number to verify, others require an app to verify
The setup is really quite easy, if you feel like it you can go through the process again to add another card or cards to Apple Pay. At the moment there appears to be an 8 card limit, so plastic jugglers may need to prioritize which cards they want to add to their iPhone. Each card is added to Passbook and you can switch between cards during checkout if you want to use one rewards card over the other.
Make a payment with Apple Pay
So what about the payment side of things? Paying with Apple Pay is a breeze after you set it up correctly. When it’s time to checkout, swipe your iPhone over the NFC payment terminal, the iPhone will get a small warning that a payment is ready, and place your finger on Touch ID to complete the checkout. That is it. Do not draw, do not wipe, do not hand over a piece of plastic.
Support for Apple Pay is still rolling out to retailers, stores, and restaurants, but around 200,000 stores already support it, and that number is likely to grow faster. Much like the list of supported cards, Apple also maintains a list of stores that allow the use of Apple Pay, at the moment it includes everything from Whole Foods, McDonalds, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Nike, Texaco, Walgreens, Subway, Petco, Office Depot, Chevron, Toys R Us, the Apple Store and much more.
There are many Apple Pay supported banks, with a full list here on the Apple website. Below is a selection of:
While Apple Pay is currently officially supported in the US, multiple reports have indicated that Apple Pay can currently be used outside of the US in a variety of countries, including the UK, Australia, UAE, and Canada, once the card is issued. with US credentials.
If you have a compatible card and new iPhone, take a few moments to set up up Apple Pay, it’s quite useful and feels a bit like the future. And speaking of the future, you can also use the Apple Watch to make payments in this way.
