HP Unveils $84M Innovation Lab In Singapore

HP Inc. has set up a research center for digital manufacturing technologies and 3D printing in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.

With an investment of $ 84 million, the new HP-NTU Innovation Lab is the largest academic research partnership between the US supplier in the world and the first in Asia, said Tuesday in a statement.

Based on a team of 100 researchers and staff, the center will focus on digital manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, new technologies and new technologies. Materials and applications, cyber security and personalization,

Initially, the lab was to work on 15 projects to better understand, for example, advanced polymers for manufacturing applications, the development of Bioprint templates for viable tissue printing, and the use of AI to autonomously predict and solve problems.

NTU President Subrah Suresh said, "The NTU has built up vast capabilities … in machine learning, data science and additive manufacturing, and Cus is now part of the NTU's educational and research ecosystem and serves as a test environment."

HP and NTU would also jointly develop a design training program for additive manufacturing that covers areas such as data management security and user experience.
