News: AirPower referenced in iPhone XS packaging, iOS 12.1 code shows continuing development

AirPower was the first announcement in the September 2017 event, apparently lacking in Apple events last week. AirPower is a charging mat that can charge up to three at the same time, but according to a recent report, Apple has a series of technical problems with this accessory.

Currently, the iPhone XS package and iOS 12.1 suggest that AirPower is not dead yet.

AirPower is not a simple combination of three Qi chargers, it is an extended version of the Qi standard that allows you to place the device anywhere on the rug. It is also very tightly integrated with iOS. So when you charge your iPhone with other devices, your iPhone will be the screen for AirPower and the status of each device will be indicated via the flowing interface.

The complexity of AirPower clearly caused many problems for engineers. The reason is that it has not been sold for more than a year since the announcement. Originally, Apple said AirPower will be available "in of 2020". Therefore, despite technically not missing the deadline, it is clearly recognized.

However, according to the new evidence of iPhone XS and iOS 12.1, AirPower development continues even if it is late.

As I look at iOS 12.1, I noticed that iOS components responsible for managing the load interface displayed when using AirPower have been updated. This means Apple is still actively working on the project.

In addition, AirPower is specified in the image of "Getting Started Guide" attached to iPhone XS. "Place the iPhone on the screen Aero Please use Qi certified wireless charger. Photo Shared by Gavin Stephens on Twitter.

If Apple is planning to cancel the project completely, we will not mention the package of the new device.
