Rumors have been circulating that Apple plans to unveil a redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro. Now, a new image discovered in the latest beta version of macOS Catalina 10.15.1, found for the first time by MacGeneration, suggests that the unveiling of the laptop could be imminent.
File in the question refers to a MacBook model called “MacBookPro16.1”, as well as a thumbnail of what seems like a MacBook Pro with glasses thinner than the current 15-inch version of the notebook. MacRumors also independently confirmed that the upcoming macOS Catalina beta file had the file, adding that the images of the 16-inch MacBook Pro that circulated in silver and gray were present in beta. It is unclear whether the redesigned laptop will feature the new scissor-switch keyboard mechanism meant to replace the distressed MacBook Pro butterfly keys.
Rumors that Apple would work on a 16-inch MacBook have appeared thanks to the renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo predicted recently this year that the 16-inch MacBook would be Apple’s first laptop to use the scissor key mechanism, with the technology finally making its way into the rest of Apple’s MacBook line.
Apple should also reveal its rumors about its AirPods Pro, an improved metal version of its standard wireless Bluetooth headsets that also include a noise-canceling feature.
