On Saturday, Union Minister Rajnath Singh said the government has brought defense and economic growth together on a single platform and is working to strengthen capacities. He claimed that the move was made in the direction of a new strong, secure, and affluent India, based on two pillars of every country’s power: defense capabilities and the size of its domestic economy. He noted that a rich country may have enough defense spending while simultaneously improving the quality of its human resources, speaking at the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence. “The Centre has combined defense and economic growth into a single platform and is working to improve defense capabilities.” The government has encouraged entrepreneurs and startups to help with defense innovation,” he said. The Union minister said the government has managed to keep the COVID-19 threat under control. He also said India was breaking export records in recent times and other factors like GST and Income Tax collections were also extremely robust. ”India is a seeing a V-shaped recovery after the pandemic. Infrastructure and logistics are being given priority,” Singh asserted.
