Games: According to reports, Xbox is working on a Monster Hunter game

The scoop comes from a reliable industry insider and Gamesbeat reported Jeff Grubb, who revealed that Xbox are looking to add more co-op games but didn’t want to force their studios to make one so they’ve teamed up with Certain Affinity and will be publishing the title through their Xbox Games Studios Publishing label.

According to credible sources, they are working on an online co-op game in the Monster Hunter format, which will be published by Microsoft through Xbox Game Studios Publishing. Another third-party exclusive appears to be in the works for Xbox. This time, they’ll be releasing a fresh new IP from Certain Affinity, a Halo co-development team that’s supposedly working on a Monster Hunter-style online co-op game.

The details about the game are pretty scarce right now but WindowsCentral reported Jez Corden has added that Xbox will probably own the IP. Corden will be revealing more details about the game on the Xbox Two Podcast tomorrow night so tune in here if you would love to hear more about the game. Given that Xbox will be publishing the game, it’s safe to assume that this will be another exclusive to Xbox ecosystem or platforms “where Game Pass exists”. The release date is currently unknown but it may take a while before the game releases since it’s yet to be announced. As always with leaks and rumours, take this with a grain of salt since it’s yet to be officially announced.
