There will be a new Persona 5 game, it has been revealed. One of the most popular JRPG series is the Persona series, but it’s also one of those games that constantly keeps coming. In addition to the sporadic—or, in the case of Persona 5, rather infrequent—mainline releases, the series has a number of spin-offs that keep fans interested. With a number of games that play somewhat like Final Fantasy, SEGA has made sure the Persona series has survived and has kept things moving on systems like Nintendo Switch that might not often see Persona games. All of those objectives are accomplished by the most recent installment of the franchise in a somewhat unexpected manner.
Persona 5: The Phantom X, a new Persona game, has been revealed for iOS and Android. This does seem to be a fully-fledged Persona experience rather than a gimmicky mobile game, which may immediately turn some fans off. The game’s brand-new, original narrative was created especially for mobile devices, and it follows a fresh crew of Phantom Thieves in Tokyo. Additionally, the fact that you may go to school, engage in activities like playing baseball, and other things suggests that the series’ basic gameplay is still present here. There is currently no release date for the game in the West, but it is anticipated to be free to play with in-app purchases.
You can register for the playtest that will take place on March 29 if you reside in China by clicking here. To get a sense of what this new mobile experience is all about, look at the gameplay trailer for the game down below.
The Persona universe’s continued growth is really awesome. People are really interested in Persona 6 because Persona 5 is getting on in age and people want to know what comes next. We’ll just have to wait it out for the time being, but at least this smartphone game will keep people occupied.
