Apple Making Mobility Data Available in Latest Coronavirus Fighting Effort

Apple advertisement On Tuesday, it will release aggregated navigation data from Apple Maps to support the fight against coronaviruses. The aim is to provide useful information to local governments and health authorities.

Apple Maps aggregated navigation data provides mobility trends to help develop coronavirus policies

By describing changes in the number of people driving, walking or using public transport, the data can help shape public policies related to the coronavirus epidemic. The new mobility website provides an indication of mobility trends in major cities and 63 countries or regions. Data is collected by counting the number of direction requests made to Apple Maps. The datasets are compared to reflect the evolution of people traveling in different ways. Of course, there are a number of factors that affect data availability in all regions, including the minimum thresholds. The complete dataset is available in CSV format.
