Apple Partners With Google on Contact Tracing Technology to Track Coronavirus Spread

Apple advertisement today he will partner with Google to track contacts, a technology used to slow down and contain the spread of disease.

Follow contact is the process of identifying people who may have come into contact with an infected person. By tracking these contacts, testing them for infection, and then tracing their contacts, it can help track and reduce the spread of a disease. From Apple’s document:

Contact tracking helps prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus by warning participants of potential exposure to a person they have recently come in contact with and who have subsequently been positively diagnosed as having the virus.

Apple and Google will build a Bluetooth platform with APIs and ‘operating system technology’ and release it as a software update in May. For those concerned about the follow-up, the press release states that it will be an opt-in.

Apple too technical documentation regarding the framework API, the cryptography specification and the Bluetooth specification.
