Apple Seeds Fourth Beta of tvOS 15.1 to Developers

Developers in the beta may get the updated releases via an over-the-air update on their devices that are already registered in the programme, or through the Apple Developer Center. Each operating system’s public beta variations usually appear shortly after the developer betas, and may be found on the Apple Beta Software Program website.

With fresh versions available for download and testing, Apple has reached the fourth round of developer betas for iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, tvOS 15.1, and watchOS 8.1.

The first build of iOS 15.1 reintroduced features that were missing from the iOS 15 release, such as SharePlay. One major new feature also surfaced, with users able to add verifiable COVID vaccination cards to Wallet.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly recommend users don’t install the betas on to what they could describe as “mission-critical” or primary hardware, as there is the small possibility of data loss or other problems. Instead, testers should install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to ensure there are sufficient backups of data before updating.

Developers can download the new tvOS 15.1 beta by downloading a profile onto the ‌Apple TV‌ using Xcode.

Other than new releases, tvOS updates are often minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements rather than major outward-facing changes. We don’t yet know what’s included in tvOS 15.1, but we’ll update this article should anything be found.

Though we don’t often know what’s new in tvOS during the beta testing process, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so those who are developers can download it upon release.
