Tottenham have opened talks with Paulo Fonseca to become the club’s new manager in time for next season. Mourinho has since been appointed as Roma boss after the role was left vacant by Fonseca himself.
The opening paragraph on his Wikipedia page read: “Paulo Alexandre Rodrigues Fonseca is a Portuguese former professional who played as a central defender, and is the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur F.C.
Spurs have turned to Fonseca after their initial plans to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager broke down last week. Conte looked set to become Daniel Levy’s man, but talks collapsed after a disagreement over his demands. Former boss Mauricio Pochettino was the north London club’s first choice manager, but Paris Saint-Germain blocked a sensational return for the Argentine.
