ATU-Ozark Recognizes Faculty, Student, and Staff Achievers
Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus recently announced the winners of its 2022-23 awards during the spring commencement ceremony at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Thursday, May 4. The annual event recognized outstanding faculty members, students, and staff who have demonstrated excellence in their fields.
Candace Case and Shelley Koone received the ATU-Ozark Campus Faculty Excellence Awards. Case won in the service category for his contributions to cardiovascular technology workforce education instruction. He has been a member of the ATU-Ozark faculty since 2013 and holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and a Bachelor of Professional Studies from Arkansas Tech. Koone was recognized in the teaching category for his work as a mathematics workforce education instructor. He joined the ATU-Ozark faculty in 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern State University and a Master of Science from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
Therrell “Blue” Johnson won the 45th Annual Bob Adams Outstanding Student Award. Johnson is from Mulberry and earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in automotive service technology. Misti Shankle captured the ATU-Ozark Campus Spirit Award for her dedication to academic excellence. She earned an Associate’s degree in General Studies and is from the Ozarks.
Peter Clifton and Beverly Nehus received the ATU-Ozark Staff Professional Excellence Award for their contributions to campus operations. Clifton has worked as an ATU-Ozark staff member for 12 years, performing maintenance tasks on campus facilities. Nehus has worked at ATU-Ozark for 32 years as Special Projects Coordinator in Chancellor’s Office.
