As the New York–based president of global commercial services, Marrs oversees AmEx’s products for corporate customers, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations. In an eventful pandemic year, that has meant listening intently to customers’ ever-shifting needs, Marrs says. Marrs, 47, worked at a fintech company and at hedge fund D. E. Shaw before joining McKinsey in 2003, where she worked on bank restructurings after the financial crisis. She moved to “Beyond the many significant contributions she has made to our business, Anna is an exemplary leader,” says Steve Squeri, AmEx’s chairman and CEO. “She has attracted extraordinary new talent to our organization and quickly built her credibility with our investor community with her candor and knowledge of our business.”
