She said she is excited about this new adventure and hopes bring the community together. Inside, the shop you can find herbs, tea, candles, incense, handmade pottery, and other medificial related supplies. “I definitely hope to grow into something bigger to offer more things to people and what they are looking for,” Bishop, said. “I just hope that people who didn’t feel like they had a sense of community can come in here and feel at home.”
She says she started working on this business about five years ago, making just candles and incense. Owner, Nicole Bishop, is Eastern Shore born and raised.
From there, it stemmed into what it is today. The new retail shop, Blackwater Apothecary, is located inside the City Center.
As of right now, they are open Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Bishop said by selling her handmade items at Third Friday events in Salisbury it helped her to open a business.
