Bozeman is not the first Montana community to offer an incentive. Butte-Silver Bow recently conducted weekly drawings of vaccinated residents for a chance to win a $10,000 or $5,000 cash prize. There are currently 627 active cases of COVID in Gallatin County, and a total of 69 Gallatin County residents have died due to COVID.

As of Wednesday, an estimated 58,468 residents of Gallatin County (59%) are fully immunized, according to the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services (DPHHS) website. According to a news release from the city, the program’s first priority is to encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated to get vaccinated, while also recognizing that there are many in the community who have already received the vaccine.
