Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Tackling Gender Disparity in Tech Industry Through ‘Women Don’t Play’ Movement

Two industry innovators, NumberEight and Odeeo, have collaborated on a website called Women Don’t Play that aims to empower women in the gaming, advertising and technology industries. The platform offers a space for interviews, resources and tools to promote gender equality and diversity in these sectors. Women currently comprise 28% of the tech industry workforce, with only 15% of engineering jobs held by women despite their holding 44% of STEM-related bachelor’s degrees as of 2022. Women Don’t Play aims to provide inspiration, guidance and direction for women entering technology-related roles. The founders hope to add more content throughout the year from industry leaders who plan to participate in future rounds of interviews.
