“This event is crucial in ensuring that we can care for the animals in our community every year,” said Julia Willson, President and CEO.
The Humane Society had almost 4,500 homeless animals in their facility as of Friday. The Fur Ball Gala has been going on for more than two decades, according to Willson.
“We are a private organisation that is locally supported and does not receive any government funding or support,” Willson explained. “We are a completely self-funded group.”
While some sat back and relaxed, everyone dressed up to the nines.
Dr. Mary Lee Davis, an attendee, stated, “It’s wonderful for us, it’s a wonderful cause.” “This specific shelter is doing fantastic work. It’s about generating money for a good cause.”
Joey, a rescue dog, and his family have been attending the gala for seven years, and Joey is as as excited as the rest of the family every year.
“He was looking forward to it,” said Mark Rinella. “As soon as we here he knew where he was going.”
