Recipients ranged the gamut from small local businesses to cultural and human service organizations. The result, officials said, was neighbors coming together to help each other during a time of need. Together, the BAF program sponsors raised $38,000 that helped 32 businesses that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, chamber President William K. Guglielmo said in a recent press release.
The donations by the BAF sponsors and supporters, who are all members of the Chamber, made the establishment of the fund possible, chamber officials said. Through this effort, several local businesses contributed funds and the chamber developed an application process for businesses, agencies and organizations to apply for grants to help them through these difficult times.
