“We literally had the same idea…we wanted a more holistic approach to the community,” Shrock said. “Teaching health and wellness was our biggest goal.” The concept of a business emerged once it was discovered they had similar aspirations of expanding into additional health and wellness services.
Getting off the ground was a bit rough at first. An early 2020 opening was soon cut short when the coronavirus pandemic required the business to temporarily close. Shrock and Urban are massage therapists who reconnected years after attending Berkshire High School.
Approximately half of the center’s patrons are those who’ve been referred by physicians. Dr. David Buehner of Munson Chiropractic in Geauga County is among the medical professionals who recommend the center to patients. Wantz, a certified functional medicine health coach, provides assistance with comprehensive health and wellness plans. She also works with oncologists to help cancer patients dealing with issues resulting from chemotherapy and radiation as well as cancer survivors.
Barth is a registered dietitian nutritionist and certified personal trainer offering individual nutrition counseling as well as prevention and management of diabetes, heart disease and more. In addition to a team of four massage therapists, health specialists Courtney Barth and Marybeth Wantz are also on board.
