Ms. Thomas began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Assurance and Business Advisory after graduating from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Ms. Thomas also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business with a concentration in finance, strategic management, and managerial/organizational behavior.
Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), one of the world’s biggest and most persuasive movie theatre, declares Melissa Thomas has been selected as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and will join the team effective November eighth. Ms. Thomas will succeed Sean Gamble, who was elevated to President on July 28, 2021, and will be named Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2022, upon the retirement of Mark Zoradi toward the finish of this current year. Ms. Thomas joins Cinemark after serving as CFO for Groupon (GRPN) starting around 2019. Before her appointment as CFO, Ms. Thomas served as Groupon’s Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer, and Vice President of Commercial Finance before that. Prior to joining Groupon, she held an assorted scope of senior finance positions inside Surgical Care Affiliates and Orbitz.
