Ms. Thomas will receive a base annual salary of $575,000. She will also receive a sign-on bonus of $500,000 and restricted stock awards. She is also eligible for performance-tied bonuses and equity awards. Ms. Thomas will step down from her CFO role at Groupon on Nov. 4, according to a U.S Securities and Exchange Commission filing. She had served in the position since February 2020. She joined the e-commerce marketplace company in June 2017 as the vice president of commercial finance and climbed up the ranks. She has previously worked in senior finance roles at Surgical Care Affiliates and the online travel fare aggregator Orbitz.
Groupon has named its Senior Vice President of Finance Damien Schmitz as its interim CFO, effective Nov. 5, according to Groupon’s securities filing. He will receive an additional monthly stipend of $18,750 for each month that he serves as well as some restricted stock unit awards, according to the filing. She will succeed Sean Gamble, who was promoted to the role of president in July, and will be named chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2022. Mr. Gamble will continue to serve as the chief operating officer as well. Cinemark’s current CEO Mark Zoradi plans to retire at the end of the year.
