A spokesperson for the education department said the impacted schools closed to undertake contact tracing. NSW Education says 40 schools were closed due to COVID-19 last week, when the staggered return of students began. At least seven of them are due to reopen today.
Students in years 2 to 11 are returning to face-to-face learning, after kindergarten and years 1 and 12 students made their return last Monday. Schools across New South Wales are welcoming back the remainder of students to classrooms today after four months of at-home learning due to COVID-19 related lockdowns.
