One of the reasons Star Wars has remained so popular is due to its steady stream of games over the last few years. Disney appears to recognise the importance of Star Wars video games, since it has teased a December announcement.
It’s probable that a new game from the Star Wars world may be announced in December. On the occasion of the Bring Home the Bounty campaign, Disney and Lucasfilm released a graphic that may hint to it.
Star Wars video games made up a cornerstone of the property, from the original Super Star Wars on the SNES, to the much beloved Star Wars Jedi Knight series of the 90s and early 2000s, to most recently, the excellent Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.
Many of these games have been considered just as important to the Star Wars canon and fanbase as the films and TV shows, especially the older games, as they were responsible for expanding the world before Disney bought LucasFilm in 2012. It took some time for Disney to start really producing Star Wars video games, but fans are currently getting a pretty good serving of content with a confirmed five games in development.
Disney is teasing a Star Wars video game announcement for December 2021. Today starts Star Wars’ latest merchandise push, known as “Bring Home The Bounty,” where every Tuesday through the rest of the year, new Star Wars products will be revealed.
The website provides a roadmap for every week, featuring icons representing what that week’s products might be related to, with the week of December 14 having a game controller. Recently there have been rumors that Quantic Dream is working on a Star Wars game, as well one centered on The Mandalorian.
