Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, has announced the company’s new commitment to support SMEs, health organizations and governments and health professionals in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In an official blog, Pichai announced a new $ 800 plus million pledge.

The blog also cited “$ 250 million in advertising grants to help the World Health Organization (WHO) and more than 100 government agencies worldwide provide critical information on how to spread COVID-19 and other measures to local communities.” $ 20 million will be provided in advertising grants to financial institutions and community NGOs, while $ 340 million in Google Ads credits will be available to all small and medium-sized businesses with active accounts in the past year. A $ 200 million investment fund aims to help NGOs and financial institutions around the world provide access to capital for small businesses.

The company is also providing $ 20 million in Google Cloud credits for academic institutions and researchers to study the pandemic. In addition to grants, Google is also working with Magid Glove & Safety to increase the production of 2-3 million face masks in the coming weeks. (ANI)
