Google Confirms That HTC Has Built The Pixel 3a

Rick Osterloh, Google’s hardware manager, confirmed that the HTC team acquired by Google in September 2017 had created Pixel 3a. Osterloh revealed this information during the last episode of The Verge’s podcast. Google bought part of HTC’s handset manufacturing division for $1.1 billion ($1.4 billion). 3a was the first product of this team.

This is not the first time that HTC has been making phones for Google. HTC created the first Pixel as well as the Pixel 2, but not the Pixel 2 XL. Since the HTC team made the Pixel 3a, it is also reasonable to believe that the company has also created Pixel 4 and 4 XL. The design of the Pixel 4 stands out from the other previous handsets, even the 3a.

As a fan of HTC, it’s nice to see that Google uses HTC’s employees that it has acquired in a way that makes sense. It is also logical to know why Google got rid of this hack since HTC has never proposed cutting in any of its devices.
