News Highlights: Poor Cyber Hygiene Exploited to Compromise Cloud Security Services.

Jan. 14, 2021 – Threat actors are successfully exploiting organizations with poor cyber hygiene to compromise cloud security services, according to a new warning from the Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
CISA is aware of multiple recent cyber attacks against a range of corporate cloud services. Hackers use a variety of tactics and techniques, such as phishing attacks and brute force logins, in an attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in cloud security practices.
It is also possible that the threat actors use “pass-the-cookie” attacks to exploit vulnerabilities. These attacks are usually carried out within the Active Directory domain.
When an entity uses multi-factor authentication on top of web applications, the user is asked to provide further proof of their identity, such as push notifications on their mobile device….
