First and foremost, the Get Together Double speakers look fantastic. They have a chic bamboo front and would look great on every bookshelf. The neatly curved lines and bevelled woofer and tweeter housings have a simple balance, while the dark exterior casing balances the bamboo for some extra visual points.
House of Marley has released the latest Get Together Duo wireless bookshelf speakers, which continue the company’s drive to use recycled materials in as many of its products as possible. House of Marley has often spoken out on environmental matters, and reducing the company’s impact and using environmentally sourced products is a significant move toward that culture.
In terms of the dark outer shell, House of Marley employs REWIND Fabric, a “durable” cloth woven from recycled materials. REWIND Fabric is made up of 30% reused organic cotton, 30% reclaimed hemp, and 40% recycled PET, mixing natural ingredients to create a solid end-product that is also suitable for audio hardware.
The Get Together Duo packs a decent audio punch in addition to using recycled materials. Each speaker enclosure includes a 3.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter, which deliver a total of 40W. (20W per speaker). Each speaker is operated independently, and the right speaker has a 20-hour rechargeable battery.
The battery takes about eight hours to fully charge and doesn’t have a fast-charging alternative, but the 5200mAh battery can provide plenty of power when out and about.
The speakers are Bluetooth 5.0 enabled, allowing them to connect to one another as well as the broadcast system. However, if you want a wired link, both speakers have standard RCA phono ports as well as a direct 3.5mm AUX alternative.
House of Marley’s Get Together Duo is a shining example of how brands that use (some) recycled resources will look great, sound great, and help to reduce their overall environmental footprint.
