You can use a single touch to remove drop shadows from Mac screen recording in Catalina. This is a more user-friendly approach than using Terminal in older versions of macOS. Here’s how.
Key combination
- Command + Shift + 4 + Spacebar + Option.
There are several options for taking a Mac screenshot. The one we use is to take a screenshot of a single window or dialog. To do this, press the key combination Command (⌘) + Shift + 4 + space bar. Then click on your mouse or trackpad. This is different from a screenshot that captures everything on the screen and is more selective.
Suggestion For You:
Example of a screenshot without drop shadow
This combination therefore creates a selective screenshot with automatically added drop shadow. Press the key to delete it Option key next to the other keys. From my tests, it seems that we have to press Option at the end. You will see a small thumbnail in the bottom right corner of the screen and then your screenshot will appear on the desktop.
