Foxconn has currently stopped hiring staff to work on its massive Zhengzhou site called iPhone City. In addition, the company is said to have hired temporary staff in February to work on the site. A worker, Mr. Wang, said Financial times that “we haven’t worked overtime since April 10th” It’s not just Foxconn who’s worried. Another iPhone assembler, Pegatron, is said to fire workers at the Shanghai factory. An employee told the same newspaper that “about 1,000 temporary workers seconded by third parties have been fired.”
