The Kisan Sabha app, developed by the CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi to connect farmers to the supply chain and freight transportation management system, was launched remotely today by DG, ICAR and Secretary DARE, dr. Trilochan Mohapatra. Dr. Mohapatra complimented CSIR on developing this portal as a one-stop solution for farmers, carriers and other entities involved in the agricultural industry and offered that ICAR can work with CSIR and the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) – can use networks for implementation.
DG CSIR and Secretary DSIR, Dr Shekar C Mande, who attended the occasion, noted that “The development and launch of the app reiterates CSIR’s commitment to supporting farmers during these critical times in the country. We look Looking forward to working with ICAR, Industry, MSME & # 39; s, the trucking and farming community and all stakeholders to continue this initiative, “he said.
The app launch was attended remotely by industry representatives, farmers, a team from CSIR-CRRI and other senior scientists from CSIR. Dr. Satish Chandra, director of CSIR-CRRI emphasized that, as the general agricultural market is not well organized and many products are wasted or sold at very low rates, a detailed primary study has been conducted interviewing over 500 farmers and Asia’s largest Azadpur Mandi, a 6-day survey was conducted with dealers, carriers and farmers to understand the various problems and gaps in the current environment. The Kisan Sabha App has been developed based on this study and the current situation.
Ø The portal connects farmers, carriers, service providers (such as pesticides / fertilizers / dealers, cold store and warehouse owners), mandi dealers, customers (such as large stores, online stores, institutional buyers) and other related entities for a timely and effective solution #
Ø The portal acts as a single stop for any entity related to agriculture, be it a farmer who needs better price crops or a mandi dealer who wants to connect with more farmers or truck drivers who invariably deflate the mandi & # 39; s.
Ø KisanSabha also works for people in the agricultural services sector, such as fertilizer / pesticide dealers, who can contact more farmers through services.
Ø It would also prove useful to those associated with cold store (s) or godown (s). KisanSabha also provides a platform for people who want to buy directly from the farmers.
Ø Kisan Sabha has 6 major modules that take care of farmers / Mandi dealers / carriers / Mandi board members / service providers / consumers.
Kisan Sabha strives to provide farmers with the most economical and timely logistics support and to increase their profit margins by minimizing intermediary intervention and establishing direct contact with institutional buyers. It will also help provide the best market rates for crops by comparing the nearest mandi, booking a freight vehicle at the cheapest cost, maximizing farmers’ benefits.
