Lafayette’s Clinica Family Health has a partnership with Community Food Share for food distribution – Boulder Daily Camera

Community Food Share has held Pop-Up Pantries throughout Boulder and Broomfield counties. “The first time we did this we had more than 200 cars come through,” Wortman said. “Many of the cars were picking up for multiple families, so we fed a lot of people, and we’ve done it pretty much every month since.” The current Mobile Pantries schedule can be found at communityfoodshare.org/mobile.

Julia McGee, Director of Communications at Community Food Share, wrote in an email that the nonprofit has done seven distributions at Clinica before this one, and started partnering at this location in June of last year. According to the city of Lafayette website, distributions typically include several protein sources and various produce items, such as bread, milk and other add-ons. No one will be asked to prove their need.

McGee wrote that the nonprofit distributes 17,000 pounds of food on average at each Clinica-based distribution, and each Pop-Up Pantry at Clinica has served roughly 550 people. The distribution will take place at 1735 South Public Road in Lafayette.

“I would encourage anyone who has a need or know someone who has a need to come because it’s a wonderful gift that this community gives to other community members, and it’s for everyone,” Wortman added. Source “Everybody needs a little help now and then and this is it,” said Wortman. “This is a little bit of help.”

McGee wrote that Community Food Share is also offering SNAP outreach at these events by helping community members navigate the process of applying for SNAP benefits. “Collaboration has always been fundamental to our mission in creating a hunger-free community,” McGee wrote. “Clinica Family Health has been a key partner in helping us reach more people during a year when so many community members are in need of our programs and Clinica’s services.”
